16 hz sub bass horn
I have an upcoming project at the Polaris Dance Studio in Portland, Oregon that requires the utmost in performance. There's room in the rafters to build a fabulous 16 hz sub bass horn. Naturally, my mind begins the quest for audio Nirvana.
I'm donating a few of my unused components, boosting my Karma while supporting the Arts. I've always been impressed with Robert Guitron's passion for dance, his skills at choreographing his students and ability to manifest a large dance studio.
Since this project is such a rare bird, I thought I'd keep everyone posted on my progress.
Money is always the "object" when it comes to the Arts: there's never enough. I pray we never lose the talented individuals that keep our world from becoming a primitive routine. If you ever have the opportunity to assist, be a good scout and give all you can.

So here we go:
I've completed a fairly decent model using Hornresp. I've always felt that Hornresp does an excellent job of forecasting performance, and assume that this project will be no different than those completed in the past.
As promised, I'll keep everyone posted.
You'll notice that I'm using an obsolete driver from Mach 5, the MJ18, so if you want to duplicate my horn, you can use their IXL-18, or if you have even deeper pockets, they have a beefy UXL-18 unit. I'll post those drawings if anyone is interested. The UXL is twice as expensive as the IXL, but has super strong response and a tremendous Xmax of 34mm! You can generate some serious SPL with that brute. It does this in a smaller horn which just amazes me.
